Lompoc

We took a little side jaunt down to the flower-farming town of Lompoc. Even though this is not considered the prime time of year to see the flower fields, I correctly figured they'd have at least something going on all the time (considering the growing-friendly climate of the area).

These will be transplanted and transported to nurseries and the like. It was kind of wierd to think that some-one's next house-plant might be from these carefully-cultivated fields....all that careful cultivation of flowers...those carefully cultivated....
cauli flowers? What is THAT doing among the posies?

What a great trip! (Did I already say that?!) I enjoyed your pictures. Lots of interesting things to see. On a completely different note, someone found our senior yearbook out in the field and brought it to the office yesterday. I had fun looking through it...remembering...
cringing...laughing... So glad I'm not a teenager anymore!!!

Robin, We liked Lompoc too. Different kind of flowers, but the wind, fresh air, blue sky all reminded us of Lancaster CA in some ways.

Rondi, What on EARTH was the yearbook doing in a field. We should have been TOGETHER looking at it. Did you look at the pic of us "knowbodies?"
